Frequently Asked Questions
Why? Is it necessary?
A horse cannot say that it is in pain.
If the saddle does not fit, it shows this with its body, movements, and behavior.
Unsuitable saddles can cause:
Back pain and sensitivity – (the horse is "afraid" of the saddle, shows dislike when tightening the girth)
Tension and movement restrictions – (The horse appears lame, head held high, dropped back, does not jump obstacles)
Muscle loss – (Pronounced hollows at the withers)
Resistance, nervousness, or "stubborn" behavior – (Refuses to move forward, bucks, kicks, bites, runs, refuses to perform tasks)
Often the problem is not in the horse's character, but in the saddle.

How?
How does the visit take place?
I will give you a summary and conclusions, and answer any questions you may have.
I work on-site. When I arrive at your place, we will discuss the situation and I will ask various questions about: the horse's daily routine, injuries, riding intensity, and measurements.
Then we will go to the horse and examine the horse's back, where I will explain to you the main aspects of the horse's anatomy.
Then we will check the current saddle position.
Next, we will take measurements of the back shape and try on saddles – determine the fit. I will give you a summary and conclusions, and answer any questions you may have.

25 € per horse + travel expenses (0.5 cents per km – I travel from Riga).

Concerns and reassurance
Calling a fitter can be stressful—What if the saddle doesn't fit? What if I harm my horse? Oh my god—how much will this all cost—what if I have to buy a new saddle, and then there’s no money left to buy new boots for myself!
But I can guarantee—by the end of the consultation, you will have so much new and interesting knowledge that you will feel confident in your ability to help your horse. And even if the saddle needs to be changed—it can be sold and a suitable option found. I will be your support in this exciting adventure, don’t be afraid to learn something new.

As my instructor Jochen Schleese said: ''If the saddle doesn't fit, there are 3 options:
1. Not know/know and ignore—until the problem worsens to an irreversible point.
2. Buy a new horse for your existing saddle.
3. Or the best, cheapest, and easiest way!—check and swap your saddle!''
